Day 4 – Python102 continues, Intro to Gen AI and LLMs, and Kahoot!
What I Learned
We started the day by working on assignments related to File I/O. For one of the assignments, I shared my solution with the whole class. Some students were facing issues with their code, and I, along with a few others, helped them debug. I felt very happy to assist them.
Then, Clyde took the mic and started a lesson on an intro to generative AI and LLMs. We learned what LLMs are, as well as tokenization and embeddings. Clyde also introduced us to 3 AI tools: suno.ai, characters.ai, and elevenlabs, 2 of which I was already familiar with. Some students shared their experiences with these tools. Suno.ai is particularly good at creating songs.
We played Kahoot on generative AI, where I came in 6th, and another Kahoot on LLMs, in which I placed 11th. Clyde then discussed prompt engineering, teaching us various approaches to giving AI prompts. We finally ended the program with a poll game where we had to identify whether the shown images were AI-generated or real. Clyde briefly mentioned AI watermarking, which I heard about for the first time.

Reflection
Today was a rewarding experience. I enjoyed helping my Python102 peers with code debugging and deepening my understanding of generative AI and LLMs. The hands-on activities and engaging discussions made the concepts more relatable. The quiz games also helped me reinforce my knowledge. I’m excited to apply what I’ve learned in future projects.
